Geek Girl Manila Is Surfing The Google Wave!
Random StuffPublished November 16, 2009 at 1:46 pm No CommentsI received a Google Wave invite in my e-mail today! Woohoo, happy day!

In case you guys don’t know what Google Wave is, here’s an 8 minute video on what Google Wave is and how it works.
I’ve been tinkering around Google Wave today and here are some scribbles on my first impression of Google Wave:
- If I was going to compare it to anything, I can say it’s a highly interactive e-mail portal
- You can also say it’s a super high tech, glorified chat. Remember IRC?
- Google Wave is great… if you have a decent internet connection. It’s very hard to use if you have crappy internet since the the updates are real-time. You can actually see each and every letter come out when someone is typing something.
A friend asked me, “So how is it?”
My answer? “As a user, it’s ok. It has a lot of potential. But hard to appreciate it now since there’s only so much you can do and not a lot of people I know are using it. It relies heavily on interactivity so if you have no one to google wave with, then it’s quite boring.”
And speaking of no one to Google Wave with, I’m giving out 2 Google Wave invites to 2 lucky people! Just write a comment answering the question, “Why do you want to Google Wave?” and don’t forget to leave your e-mail! I’ll be using a randomizer to choose the winners by the end of this week, November 22, Sunday.
Hope to see you guys in Google Wave! And for those who do have Google Wave, add me at lia.espina@googlewave.com.
