Last Sunday, the hubby and I had dinner with my family at Pepper Steak Festival Mall, Filinvest. I’ve been curious about this restaurant since I’m particularly fond of Pepper Lunch.
In my mind, I’ve always thought of Pepper Steak as a wanna-be Pepper Lunch since the names are so similar and they both offer steak meals on hot plates. I guess my elitist self has guiltily made fun of Pepper Steak on more than one occasion, haha.
But after the dinner last Sunday, I found out that Pepper Steak wasn’t so bad after all.
Pepper Steak has this thing called Moo-Flips, similar to BubbaGumps Stop/Go signs. I find them really convenient since I really dislike waving my hands to get a waiters attention (makes me feel silly!). Their service is really good since a waiter would attend to you really quickly when you flip your Moo-Flip to Moo-ve :)
The one thing I like about Pepper Steak is that they have a lot of variety.
With Pepper Lunch, you know you’ll either eat a Beef Pepper Rice, a Pork Pepper Rice or a Chicken Pepper Rice. If you’re feeling adventurous you might try out the Unagi Pepper Rice, Salmon Pepper Rice or get a Double Beef Pepper with Pork. Or maybe one of their steak meals. Then order a drink and maybe eat the Vanilla Crepe Cake or the Kuromitsu Soft Ice Cream for dessert.
But with Pepper Steak, they have pasta meals and more varieties of Pepper Rice meals. They even have a Meatball Pepper Rice which I found really weird. Eww, that’s like eating spaghetti with rice!
For my appetizer I ordered fries with gravy. It was “okay”. Not so great.
For my main dish, I got a Teppanyaki Pepper Rice. Again, I forgot to take a pic of the Teppanyaki Pepper Rice because I was so hungry! Their serving sizes were pretty large, though.
Pepper Steak also has a lot more dessert choices.
My cute little nieces tried out the Blueberry Cheesecake Ice Cream while I tried out the Banana Dark Chocolate. Pretty good!
All in all, I had a good meal at Pepper Steak :) I wouldn’t mind going back there, if and when I need a break from Pepper Lunch ;)
