PLDT myDSL’s the Awesome Hunt Awarding: Who Are The Winners?

I’ve been wanting to check out REPUBLIQ for the longest time, but I just couldn’t get my lazy butt out of my computer chair. I had no compelling reason to dress up and drive (well, let Artie drive) all the way to Resorts World. I’d rather stay home in ratty clothes and blog, haha!

So when I got the invitation to attend the PLDT myDSL’s the Awesome Hunt Awarding at REPUBLIQ last May 14, 2011, I was more than happy to oblige.

Not only do I get a reason to go to REPUBLIQ, but I can also show support to a couple of people I personally know who was a contest in the PLDT myDSL Awesome Hunt.

If you don’t know what the PLDT myDSL’s the Awesome Hunt is all about, then let us refresh:

PLDT myDSL brings you the Awesome Hunt as our way of celebrating the 200,000 additional DSL lines we’ve installed in several provinces nationwide. Celebrity/blogger teams were sent to the different locations on April 7 in search of local hidden gems. After each task, the teams uploaded their stories right here for you to check out.

It’s basically PLDT myDSL’s version of The Amazing Race, but it’s more awesome since it’s done all over the Philippines. Each team also got to share bits and pieces about the different locations in their online travelogue. WatchPad users and other people can then vote for their favorite team, or for which ever team’s online travelogue they find most enterataining.

The Awesome Hunt was joined by the following teams:

• Team Cavite – actor Mark Herras and motorsport personality Alex Perez
• Team Laguna – TV Hosts Dolly Anne Carbajal and IC Mendoza
• Team Quezon City – Columnist China Cojuangco and travel blogger Carlos Celdran
• Team Marikina – TV personalities Steven Silva and Daiana Menezes
• Team Butuan – TV personalities Marco Alcaraz and Bela Padilla
• Team Rizal – Radio personality Mojo Jojo and food blogger Jane Chua
• Team Dumaguete – Myx VJ Ton Vergel de Dios and actress Ryza Cenon
• Team Las Piñas – tech blogger Jayvee Fernandez and actor Luis Alandy.

I was rooting for Team Las Piñas since I’m from Las Piñas (and Jayvee’s a friend), and also for Team Cavite as Alex Perez is a personal friend of Artie’s.

Unfortunately, they didn’t win. Oh well. (Skip to the bottom of this blog post if you want to know who won, hehe)

So off to REPUBLIQ we go for PLDT myDSL’s Awesome Hunt Awarding!

I’m impressed! Such a snazzy place. I guess it’s the new super club.

It was indeed a fun night of awesome music from Pure, free drinks, meeting people and dancing.

When we left Republiq at 2AM, the event was still in full swing! Aaaah, the Manila night life is still the same :)
