My girl friends always talk about how they make it a point to get a facial done at least once a month.
I could never relate when we get into this conversation as I have never, ever had a facial done before prior to my pumpkin peel experience.
I’ve had a number people tell that if you get a facial done, you’ll have to maintain doing it because your face will keep looking for it. And sometimes, if you miss a facial you’ll break out and your skin will end up worse than how it was before you ever had a facial.
(Okay, fine, the statement above probably has no basis at all and is probably not true, but that what’s kept me from getting facials anyway, haha)
So in my 30 years of existence, I have never, EVER had a facial ever… (Thank you Mom and Dad for giving me good skin genes.)
Until last December! (Yes, this is another long overdue post!)
♥ MY PUMPKIN PEEL EXPERIENCE ♥
Our friend, Dra. Clarisse Mendoza (who we fondly call Ayees), is a dermatologist and she has been raving sooo much about this facial called a pumpkin peel. Since I’ve been wanting to get a facial for the longest time, I’ve decided to get a pumpkin peel for the following reasons:
- A pumpkin peel facial is the gentlest facial you can get. Therefore, it’s a really good choice for first timers (That’s me!)
- A pumpkin peel is really for people with dry skin as it improves skin hydration.
Aside from those I mentioned, here are the other benefits of pumpkin peel facial:
- Improving the skin’s facial complexion overall
- Improving texture
- Sloughing off dead surface cells
- Stimulating the production of elastin and collagen
- Helping to lighten the hyper-pigmentation of skin
- Softening fine lines and visible wrinkles

Pumpkins have elevated concentrations of vitamins C, A, and Beta-Carotene. These antioxidant properties are a great source to help fight free radicals and aid in treating sun damage caused by overexposure. Pumpkins additionally contain healthy doses of zinc and potassium which are an essential foundation to nourishing the skin. The natural enzymes and alpha hydroxyl acids found within a pumpkin help to exfoliate your skin and to lighten tone. – website
♥ GEEK GIRL VERDICT ♥
I loved my pumpkin peel experience! :) After the facial, my skin felt very, very soft and supple. There was no redness and no peeling either in the days that came after. If you need a facial treatment for that instant glow, I suggest getting a pumpkin peel :)
It’s a really, really gentle treatment and it takes around 60-90 minutes.
