Hello, geeks! How are you all doing?
It’s been a while since I last wrote something and truth be told, I really don’t have any good excuse. I wish I could say I was being productive and busy, but I wasn’t really. There are just so many distractions in my life right now plus I seem to have lost my blogging mojo again!
Guess you can say I’m having a blogger burn out. *sigh*
It’s so hard to be a blogger nowadays, you know?
There’s the challenge of how can you make yourself stand out from the bajillion bloggers in the Philippines, and then there’s the constant feeling of insecurity — “Do people really read my blog?” — which makes me question why I even blog until now.
Then there’s also dealing with the pressure that to be the BEST blogger, it’s ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE for one to create content with value. Anything else is a waste.
Do people really want to spend 3 minutes of their time to read about my cats?
When this happens, I step back and try to remember the reasons why I blog in the first place.
So why do I blog?
I blog because I enjoy blogging… and I should probably keep blogging in the way that I enjoy it.
This, after all, is my personal blog where I write about the things I love and find interesting.
I’m also a lifestyle blogger (who dabbles in tech), and lifestyle, by definition, is the way in which one chooses to live their life.
So with that in mind, I’ll keep blogging the way I want to.
I’ll keep blogging about my cats, about
my online shopping addiction the stuff I buy online, about the movies and shows that I watch, and about the books and comics that I read.
I won’t worry about creating content with the intention that they should go viral.
I’ll keep blogging about the games that
make me fly into /nerdrage I play, and the events I attend every once in a blue moon.
I won’t worry that my blog posts should be titled “168 Ways To Generate Titles For Your Blog Posts”.
I’ll keep blogging about my family and my friends.
I won’t worry about what other bloggers are blogging about and how they are blogging. They are them and I am me.
I’ll blog in the way that makes me happy.
And hopefully, while I shamelessly bare my life online, I have hopes that people will find inspiration in my silly thoughts, and maybe, just maybe, also find value in the stuff that I share.
After all, I’m just your ordinary geek girl from Manila :)
In other news, I just had a haircut! :)
