2. Demise of Lord Voldemort. (Uhm, should I have said spoiler alert?)

and the number one reason:

1. Hermione’s cleavage. (For the boys, if your girlfriend is forcing you to watch the movie with her, THIS is your salvation! …….. WHAT? It was OUT there!)

It’s been a while since I’ve last watched a 3D movie in IMAX. The last 3D movie I watched was Beowulf in 2007. (I also watched the U2 3D in IMAX, but that’s not really a movie). I’ve watched other movies in regular 3D digital theaters, but watching it in a non IMAX movie house doesn’t really count either.

I was pleasantly surprised that 3D technology for movies has come a VERY long way from what it used to be. I know 3D TVs are awesome now but I didn’t know movie theaters had caught up as well.

Watching 3D movies used to give me a headache. It strained my eyes and made me dizzy after a while.

But not anymore! IMAX 3D movies (if well rendered in 3D, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 definitely is!) are more crisp now! No more fuzz! They’re not kidding now when they say the ‘Movies come alive’.

They’ve done some improvements on the 3D glasses, too!

After watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in IMAX 3D, I think I might be watching more movies in IMAX 3D in the days to come! *kaching kaching*

WATCH HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2 IN IMAX 3D.

You won’t regret it.

As much as I’m sad for the Harry Potter series to end, watching it in IMAX 3D has given me a deep sense of closure. (For those in denial, I understand)

What started out as a children’s book turned out into one of the best fantasy story of all time. Definitely not just for kids anymore.

It was a epic farewell to an even more epic story. Long live Harry Potter! *cheers a Butterbeer*

From the title itself, it’s pretty much your typical “werewolf bites geek boy, geek boy gets supernatural powers and turns into a popular kid” story.

Teen Wolf is a supernatural drama series that follows Scott McCall (Tyler Posey), a high school student and social outcast that gets bitten by a werewolf while wandering in the woods. Scott attempts to maintain a normal life, while hiding from everyone his secret life as a werewolf. – Wikipedia

Females ages 12 to 30 will probably like this show for the following eye candy reasons:

Tyler Posey as Scott McGall, the Teen Wolf

Dylan O’Brien as Stiles, the trusty sidekick and bestfriend

Colton Haynes as Jackson, the jock from hell and high school bully, who might eventually become a ‘friend’

Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale, your dark, brooding mysterious man

While it’s more enjoyable for the ladies, some of the male population out there might find the female protagonist and the supporting actress attractive.

Crystal Reed as Allison, the Teen Wolf’s lady love

Holland Roden as Lydia, your neighborhood mean girl and frenemy

With 3 episodes already out, I have to admit, it’s actually not that bad. It’s entertaining enough to keep you sane and occupied while the good series are out on a break.

The TV series channels a ‘Vampire Diaries’ feel with a lighter, teeny-bopper vibe, and minus the vampire.

Ocassionally, you might want to roll your eyes at some of the script. It’s very Young Adult, if you ask me :)

If you’re expecting anything like Jacob from Twilight (like his 6-pack abs), you might get disappointed.

And can I say it again: SPARTACUS BLOOD AND SAND ROCKS!

I tried watching this show the first time it came out earlier last year but I turned green in the first few minutes of the show. But after my hospital incident last year, I could stomach the sight of blood now. Just a little bit anyway.

So here I am watching a show netizens have been raving about.

Bloody hell, this show is BLOODY. Heads flying, guts spilling, faces getting smashed, limbs getting cut off. You can imagine now, can’t you? :P

If I were to use one word to describe this series, it would be: RAW. Raw violence, raw nudity, raw everything! It makes me wonder if people in Roman times really acted like this. So animalistic and barbaric! It’s amazing, haha!

Spartacus Blood and Sand is inspired by the historical figure of Spartacus the gladiator. So expect to see a lot of arena battles (where more blood is shed!)

My favorite character in Spartacus is Ilythia. She’s played by the very hot Viva Bianca. I swear, seeing her and the Roman women giggle over violence is just really unnervingly hilarious. Rabid women!

At first I thought this was going to be a man-flick since it had a lot boobs and violence, but women will equally enjoy this as well. Think Gladiator abs and MORE! *naughty lol* NOT FOR KIDS!

Definitely a series worth watching. FUN :)

Currently, the show has one season completed (13 episodes) and season 2 will start in 2012. Starz released Spartacus: Arena of the Gods this year. It’s supposed to be a pre-quel to Blood and Sand. I can’t wait to watch that, too!

I spent the whole weekend watching the TV series, Merlin!

Contrary to the belief that I only downloaded it because there were cute guys in it (yes, I’m talking to YOU, Les and Kar, hahaha. Ok, so maybe the guy playing Arthur is kind of cute…), I’m actually pretty interested in the story of King Arthur and Knights of the Round Table.

Actually, I’m interested in the Medieval Era, period. Nothing beats knights in shining armors and damsels in distress. Then add a talking dragon and maybe a few kick ass witches and warlocks. Woohooo!

In the series, Merlin is still a young warlock while Arthur is still a prince of Camelot. For the first season, it seems like the story revolved around Merlin trying to keep his gift of magic a secret since the use of sorcery in Camelot was forbidden. While, of course, saving Arthur’s life every so often. Seriously, Arthur and Merlin bro-mance FTW!

Hard core fans of the story of King Arthur and Camelot might find this series a bit odd and blasphemous. It seems like they changed so much of the story. Like for example, in this TV series, Guinevere is a maid servant of Morgana. To be honest, I’m not familiar with the story of Arthur when he was still a prince, but as far as I know, wasn’t Guinevere the queen when Arthur was the king?

Nonetheless, Merlin is an entertaining series to watch!

Currently, Merlin is on it’s 2nd season with seven episodes out already.

For the non-geeks, according to Wikipedia:

Trust me before you start scoffing at how geeky the TV series sounds, it’s actually pretty cool! BSG has four seasons of around 20+ episodes each. It’s done, too so you won’t have to worry about being squirming with impatience and wondering when the next episode will be out.

However though, there’s this new TV series called Caprica that’s sort of a spin-off of Battle Star Galactica. Sort of, but not quite. Caprica’s story is set before the war between the Cylons and humans happened.

But then that’s another story.
