Seeing Sasha of Style Manila being giddy over her new iPod Touch reminded me of myself when I received my 4th generation iPod Touch from the hubby last Christmas. I actually owned the older model which didn’t have a camera, but even then, the 3rd gen iPod Touch was still my second best loved gadget next to my laptop.
Now getting the 4th gen iPod Touch was a real treat since it had a camera (being the click-happy girl that I am). I prolly spent a good whole day just tinkering around and downloading photography apps, spending a few bucks here and there.
So if you’re going to ask me which photography apps should you get for the iPod Touch or your iPhone, here are my top 4 picks:
1. Hipstamatic ($1.99)
If you’re a vintage camera fan, you’ll definitely like Hipstamatic. You can mix and match flashes, lenses and films giving your photo a slightly unique effect every time.
You have to buy the additional ‘Hipstapaks’ to get the other add ons though and each Hipstapak cost $0.99.
I got so addicted to Hipstamatic that I ended up buying most of the add ons, hehe. *guilty*
The whole mix and match is actually the novelty of Hipstamatic and why I like it so much. And the surprise of finding out what your photos will look like.
2. Instagram (Free)
Instagram, just like Hipstamatic, is a photography app that adds vintage and whimsical effects to your photo. The difference is (aside from being FREE), with Instagram you choose from different pre-defined effects. You also have an option of using a photo from your library or taking a fresh photo (unlike with Hipstamatic, you need to take a photo with your camera)
Aside from sharing your Instagram photos in Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr, Instagram also has its own “social network” where you can share your photos with other Instagram users.
3. LomoLomo (Free)
Another photography app that I occasionally use is Lomo Lomo. Just like Hipstamatic and Instagram, its an app that adds lomo and other toy camera effects to your photos.
I use Lomo Lomo when I’m not feeling artsy-fartsy but I want to have an artsy-fartsy photo, haha 😉
4. PhotoShake. ($1.99)
I like to take photos. A lot. And sometimes, I like combining several photos into one image. PhotoShake can do that easily. Just choose the photos you want to combine, give your iPhone or iPod Touch a shake and you’re done!
So those are the apps I usually use for photos. You might also want to check out these following apps since they have good reviews, as well: Camera+, Incredibooth and Swanko Lab.
