I’ve been dying to check out the Muji stores here in Manila ever since it opened last October in Bonifacio High Street. But we never got around to it since we didn’t have any reason to go all the way to Makati. Yup, lazy bums we are!
Fortunately, last month, we had to meet up with one of Artie’s cousin near Rockwell (At Sandy’s Pizza, yum yum!) so we decided to pass by Muji, Rockwell first before going to our dinner.
So, yay, we finally had our Muji experience!

I didn’t get to take photos of the store though. Chuvaness has a pretty comprehensive picture gallery of the Muji Rockwell store so you can check that out. I was too busy drooling over all the stuff in Muji to take photos!
You just have to love Japanese minimalism.
Sadly, the Muji stuff here in Manila are pretty overpriced. In Japan, Muji is known for its affordable and cheap, good quality products. Ah well. Philippine corruption inflation.
Anyway, if we weren’t on a tight budget we would probably have gone crazy and overspent. Thank god we were, so we only bought stuff we needed, like storage boxes.
We’ve been on the look out for the perfect storage boxes (temporary drawers) for our clothes as we don’t have a wardrobe closet yet. We’ve been to a lot of stores from SM to S&R, to Ace Hardware and True Value. But the selections were all the same. Gaudy looking plastic storage boxes in weird colors like orange and lime green. We wanted sleeker looking storage boxes, and thank god, Muji had them.
We also got a couple of organizer boxes for our bathroom since our personal bathroom stuff were all over the place, haha.
Before and after pictures of our bedroom. Yay, no more waking up to a balikbayan box beside my side of the bed. And they double as side tables, too!
I knew in my heart that Muji would have the perfect storage boxes because Muji is LOVE, haha! The storage boxes costs around PHP1,000+ each, while the organizer boxes were around PHP300+.
I also splurged a bit on a bag organizer. Most of the bag organizers I’ve seen were quite big and chunky. I needed a thin one for my bag. I found the perfect one in Muji for the price of PHP995.00. Yowza.

I also liked this really nice make up vanity table in Muji but it costs a whopping PHP15,000! Nevermind!
And my last purchase at Muji for that day was… cotton candy!

Even their cotton candy (PHP95.00) was so simplistic, I just had to buy one! I love Japanese food packaging!
Hmm, that’s it for our Muji experience. Now I wonder if anyone is planning to bring in UNIQLO.
