Myra-E Vita Glow: It Was Almost You.

As much as I love make up, I’m not a big fan of putting on make up (specifically foundation) on myself, contrary to what most people think. I don’t really put on foundation on a regular basis. For my daily look, I just use face powder, a blush tint, eyeliner and lip gloss. Very low maintenance.

But on a night out, or any special event, that’s a different story.

My skin is very sensitive and by the time I remove make up on my face, for sure, I’m already breaking out. And by the next day, I have pimples to take care of.

I guess you can say I’m still on the look out for my HG (Holy Grail) foundation. I’ve tried a number of products already, ranging from high end products (like Shu Uemura, MAC, Shiseido) to more affordable ones (like Maybelline, FaceShop, etc) and so far, still no go.

I’ve even tried the BB Mineral Cream of Maybelline hoping mineral make up might be a good fit for me since its supposed to be organic. I’m using the Maybelline Clear Smooth Face Powder and Maybelline Clear Smooth Extra Powder Foundation (both in honey shade) as my daily face powder and luckily, I don’t break out when I use either.

But unfortunately, I broke out still with the Maybelline BB Mineral Cream. So much for that.

Moving on…

Last week, we went to the grocery and I saw the Myra-E Vita Glow Tinted Moisturizer. I’ve always wanted to try using a tinted moisturizer as a foundation replacement since I really don’t like the feeling of thick make up on my face. But the question is, which tinted moisturizer should I try?

Initially, I wanted to try the Olay Total Effects Touch of Foundation, but  shelling out Php700.00+ is still a little too much for me, especially if I end up not using it anymore. I did try  the Olay Moisturizing Lotion (Php 235.00) recently, and true enough, I did break out. Olay products are not for me!

So, anyway, back to the Myra-E Vita Glow. (Sorry, I tend to blab, haha)

I did end up buying it because it was only Php 165.00. I’m currently using Myra-E Facial Moisturizer as my daily moisturizer for almost a year now and thankfully, no break outs. So I’m hoping their tinted moisturizer would work for me, too.

What I liked:
1. Easy application. Just a pea-sized amount is good enough for my whole face and neck.
2. Good consistensy, easy to blend.
3. Feels light on the skin.

I wore it on my face for around 6 hours (night time) and miraculously, I felt no itch through the entire night and my face didn’t get oily (though I have dry skin naturally). I didn’t break out the next day either!

So did I finally find my HG Tinted Moisturizer?

Unfortunately, NO. Because of those freaking glitters!

Yep, you heard me right, Vita Glow has really tiny, microscopic glitters mixed into it. If only it didn’t have glitters it would have been perfect. I guess they wanted to take the “Glow” literally but it turned out to be a “dewey”-effect-FAIL in my opinion.

Will I use it again? Probably yes, on a night out but definitely not on a daily use. I do not want to be sparkling like Edward Cullen while on a simple errand like doing grocery or going to the bank. The whole time while I was wearing the tinted moisturizer, I kept on hoping no one would point out I had glitters on my face. The hubby noticed and I could only sigh exasperately then. *sigh*

Oh well, too bad. Search is still on!

  1. I don’t think the glitters aren’t that bad 🙂 They don’t stay there the whole day.

  2. That’s true 🙂 But the glitters make me feel self conscious. I feel like people are staring 🙂

  3. Been using Myra too! Don’t apply too much if you don’t want those glitters to show. I love using it because it’s like BB cream but with cheaper price. 🙂

  4. ive been using this tinted myra e and im loving it.! and for the glitters i love it as well as it made my skin smoother..ilove everything about this product. if theres something lacking on this product, might be the range of colors. I use ivory though.

Hi Jace, I’m glad the Myra-E Vita Glow is working for you! I’m still hoping they’d come up with a non-glitter version 😉

  6. OMG! Edward Cullen part was really funny, you made me laugh… But seriously Myra Vita Glow has a good effect on me, I love this product.

  7. Hi Lia,

I’m using Myra E Daily Sun Protect Facial Moisturizer. Then I have Garnier Whitening Cream before I put on some face powder.

I would like to know if that Myra E Tinted Facial Moisturizer acts as a foundation already without putting on any face powder? or you still use some powder so it won’t look shiny? (No prob with me about the glitters though)

If I use this, do you think I won’t need the Daily Sun Protect Facial Moisturizer anymore?

Sorry to ask though, just looking for some opinions still.

    Thanks.

    Chenz

Hi Chenz, yup it can act as a foundation already, but it is always good to set your foundation with powder afterwards 🙂

Hi Raine, Myra E vitamins as usually in gel capsule 🙂 Hope the Vita Glow works for you! 🙂

  11. I’ve been using this product for almost a month now and I am really satisfied with it. The glitters don’t bother me at all.

I wonder which shade is lighter, is it beige or ivory? Because I think ivory is a tad too dark for me. I only bought it because it looked like it is closer to being yellow-based compared to beige.

I will repurchase this product and I’d like to know which shade should I buy 🙂 Can you help me out? Thanks!

Hi ile, I’m not sure but usually beige is darker than ivory. You might want to go to a store and try out the tester 🙂

  13. I find that applying this tinted moisturizer with a sponge dramatically reduces the amount of sparkles on your face. Haha! I stopped using this for a while because of the glitters, but I gave it one more shot with a sponge.

Oh, and if you haven’t tried San San Matte Finish Liquid Foundation (only 130 pesos for a bottle), you might want to check it out. Who knows, maybe it won’t cause you to break out. 🙂

  14. how about Neutrogena Fine Fairness BB Cream? ^_^ im loving mine ^_^ honestly im not into bb creams but this one is my very first, also before i used Myra Tinted Moisturizer, but im still finishing my iWhite Facial Cream though (serves as makeup base/primer)

  15. Didn’t like the glitters too. I thought it was not that noticeable but my fiance noticed it, sya pa ang nagsabi na konti na lang daw para na akong Edward Cullen.

Thanks for the reco Aviva! 🙂

  19. it is ok if I use Myra E Tinted Facial Moisturizer after applying any cream like ponds?

  20. I saw this at Watsons , swatched it on the back of my hand and was impressed UNTIL I moved my hand back slightly and saw the glitters! I wouldn’t classify them as shimmer because they look like those art/handcraft glitters. Le sigh. And the shade was nice too. Oh well.

  21. Oh, I am using Myra moisturizer, the red one. Didn’t have breakouts. Then I just use loose powder afterwards. I think I will try this tinted Myra product. 🙂 I wonder how I’ll look with it. Thanks to this post.

  22. Hi! Just in case you’re still looking for a tinted moisturizer, I recommend one from organicskinlove_goddess. Check it out on ig. It’s called DD cream, if I remember it right. Tinted (i think it has 2 choices of shade), works also as a concealer kasi it can minimize the visibility of pores, with SPF (i jst cnt remember how high it is), Parabene-free so it dsnt clog your porest, and it’s all natural.. Organic kasi. It gets a lot of positive feedbacks din from the users. Go and find it out for yourself! Follow them on ig. I just did and am planning to order some of their organic products na din 🙂
