My Mercato Centrale Weekend :)

I’ve been hearing people rave about the Mercato Centrale Organic Market and Food Market for months now and it’s only lately that we’ve managed to wake up early enough to actually go and check it out.

Driving all the way to the Fort from Las Pinas early in the morning on a Saturday doesn’t seem like a fun idea.

But finally, last Saturday we were able to enjoy brunch at Mercato Centrale!

Of course, one of our stops was the Jam Foods Angus Beef Tapa booth.

I wasn’t able to take photos of most of the food and vendors, sad to say. It was just so hot that day that all I wanted to do was sit. I didn’t even have an appetite to eat my food because of the scorching heat 😦

Of ALL the days, we had to choose the hottest day to go to Mercato Centrale, haha.

I did, however get to take photos of some of the things that caught my fancy.

Merry Moo Ice cream! I got the Sea Salt Caramel. It was good 🙂 Slightly on the saltier side than sweet, but good nonetheless. P60 a scoop.

I really liked their Rainbow Cakes, hehe 🙂 Tasted like vanilla cake with lemon-y icing.

The one reason why I REALLY wanted to go to Mercato but didn’t end up buying 😦 I was full already.

Other notables (for me anyway) would be the Bagnet Sandwich, the Monster Burger, Healthy Coffee, and Thai Milk Tea from SaThai. For non food items, you can also find a Leyende booth and a Messy Bessy booth.

I would have enjoyed my Mercato Centrale experience more if only it wasn’t so darn hot.

If you plan to check out Mercato Centrale, I suggest going there extra early or check out the Midnight Mercato instead if you’re not particularly tolerable of the heat.

If you plan to visit this Holy Week, here’s their advisory:

In observance of the Holy Week, we will be closed from Good Friday to Easter Sunday. We will resume normal operations in the following week. We have Mercato Centrale on Sat and Sun 7am-2pm, and we have Midnight Mercato on Fri and Sat 10pm-3am.

Yup, I saw the cute cupcakes! 😀

It’s so hot na talaga. I wonder how it’ll affect the other Mercato weekends this summer.

  5. Nava, a lot of sinful ones, too 😉

  6. Thanks for passing by 🙂

    Yes, try the Mochiko! 🙂

  7. hahaha! I love your blog! funny about the mochiko mochis, same reason rin why i went to mercato but ended up being too full and forgot about it. 😀

  9. Tinitch, It was the first thing and last thing I saw in Mercato… Weird naman if I had mochiko for breakfast, hehe! 🙂

  10. u8mypinkcookies, me too. My first time 🙂 I want to go back, but most prolly to the Midnight Mercato because mornings are too hot! 🙂

  11. Just came from that place as well. Overcrowded, overhyped, and hot. May go once or twice but that’s it. Lots of mediocre food as well. There was a lot of pretty upper middle and rich class people around. I guess Manila is just that boring on a Saturday night!

  12. Hi Jake, sorry to hear your Mercato Experience was so-so. So I guess you went to the Midnight Mercato? 🙂 I’m not so much into the meat and meals, but I really enjoyed their selection of drinks and dessert 🙂
