Okay, I admit. I went overboard on shoe shopping this July/August.
I can’t help it! I have not bought a single pair of shoes for more than a year, I swear!
I’m just catching up on the lost shopping time 😉
Ever since I started my neuromuscular massage therapy sessions, I’ve been feeling more and more confident about my walking gait that I decided that maybe, just maybe, I was ready to wear other kinds of footwear aside from my ratty trusty old (really old) Ipanema.
I bought this in 2007 and it’s still alive! I needed comfortable shoes when I got 9 stitches done on my ankle from a karting accident.
At first, I was only looking for only one pair: dressy open-toed flats or sandals that I could wear when I go out for dinner and drinks in Makati. (Ratty flip flops in Makati? Kill me now.)
When my sister and I went around the mall, she found me this pretty, black pair gladiator sandals.
I love the ankle support on this pair!
I know, so last season, but like I said, I need some catching up on shoe shopping!
As we were walking to the cashier to pay, this pair caught my eye.
The floral pattern on the heel is soooo pretty!
I really love the heel design and I needed a black wedge anyway…
(As of this writing, I have not worn this pair yet. It’s still too high for me to walk/stand in for too long. But I could probably wear it if I get dropped off at the entrance of wherever I’m supposed to go, cling to Artie, walk a couple of steps and sit down on a chair the whole night, hehe.)
I was contemplating on whether to get it or not when I noticed the pair beside it.
Grey peep-toe sandals. Sort of wedge-ish but not too high. Probably around an inch and half.
I started thinking, “Perfect when I need the height, but not too high that I’d end up with an achey back and feet…”
(Start inner monologue)
“… but I really like the black wedges…”
“Lia, I don’t think you’re ready to wear that heel height yet…”
“But I really, really, like it…”
“Three pairs? Come on, that’s being too indulgent…”
“But… I have not bought any pair of shoes in more than a year…”
That argument settled everything and I went home with three new pairs of shoes 😉
BUT THAT’S NOT ALL!
A relative went to the US and ka-ching! Hello, online shopping!
I got this,
To replace my Ipanema! From Crocs.
And this,
Another pair from Crocs, the Leigh Wedge. I love this pair! So comfortable and light!
And this!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. *giddy*
So that’s it for shoe shopping!
I’ve seen a lot of really nice, really high and really funky, fashionable pairs out there but for the meantime, I’m going to settle for comfort rather than style. Pain in the name of fashion can wait!
For now, I’m putting myself on an indefinite shopping ban…
OH WAIT.
I just remembered, I still need to buy a silver pair of shoes for my friend’s wedding!
Ah, well, what can I say, a girl can never have too many shoes. 😉
