Gadget for the Beauty Geek: Vidal Sassoon Mini 13mm Ceramic Straightener

Before I head off to slumber land at 4AM in the morning, I just HAVE to share my latest beauty purchase.

I’ve been obsessing over a mini flat iron ever since I had my haircut 2 weeks ago.

I got myself full bangs, yay! What do you guys think? 🙂

Actually, I don’t really need to iron my hair on a daily basis since my hair is naturally straight.

On a normal day, I just let my hair dry naturally. No ironing, no blow dry and no fan dry. My hair dries up straight with a slight fly away and a few frizzes that’s really no biggie, and my bangs with a slight wave.

But then there are those days that I just want to look polished and make sure that not a single strand is out of place.

I only need to tame my new fringes so I decided I only wanted needed a mini flat iron. I knew they were available in the US, but I wasn’t so sure if they were readily available here in Manila.

But hey, what do you know, SM Stores do have it all!

Whee, a pink one! 🙂 It’s available in black, too.

Uses ceramic plates 🙂

Back of the box…

No way to adjust the heat, just the on-off button.

With the cord…

Shiny, pink finish! 🙂 Love!

It’s soooo small! It’s only slightly bigger than my iPod Touch!

I haven’t tried it out yet, but here are my first impressions:
1. I LOVE the size. It’s really just perfect for my bangs.
2. It’s really light; and
3. The heat temperature only goes up to 200C. Some may find this heat setting too low as other flat irons go as high as 450C. But I’m perfectly fine with this temperature as I’m not a big fan heat styling.

I will update you guys on the performance when I get to use it this Friday. 🙂

But if you’re looking for a mini flat iron and you want one now, check out your nearest SM Store! I got this cute little thing at the Department store area of SM Southmall for P1,599 🙂

UPDATE 06-March-2012:

Here’s a photo of my bangs after using the VS mini 13mm ceramic straightener.

I’m generally satisfied with the performance as I have naturally straight hair. But if you have stubborn, wavy hair, you might want to take a look at the BaByliss Pro Nano Titanium Mini Flat Iron (heard it is available in Landmark), which can go hotter to a temp of 450C 🙂

  1. That is really cute and handy. 🙂 I envy your naturally straight here. I used to iron my hair almost everyday, but I had to stop because my hair got super dry. I gave the straightener to my sister. Although now I think I need one because the stylist cut my hair a bit short. Can you use this as a hair curler as well? I like that it’s so small. 🙂

  2. Looks like a great product and worth buying.

  3. I’m actually looking for a good blow dryer and curling iron, I think I’ll see if I can get them from Vidal Sassoon. 🙂

Hi Irene, I’ll let you know once I get to try it out. Honestly, I’m a noob when it comes to flat irons, haha! 🙂

Hi Chrissy, VS should be a good brand 🙂 It’s not that expensive, too.
