Coloud Review Part II: The Boom

You’ve read my review on The Pop. Now here’s my review on The Boom.

Like The Pop, it has a no-frills packaging that is very easy to open.

The Coloud Boom retails for only P1,850. Not bad!

Upclose.

Headband is made of faux leather.

The earphones are well-padded for comfort.

Easily adjustable so it fits heads of most sizes, from tiny ones to big ones 😛

Headband is padded, too.

Has a mic and remote as well, which means you can answer calls on your mobile phone, or do Skype calls, and even when you’re playing online games.

Tangle-free cord system

Tidy up your cords with the Zound Lasso, pliable plug.

What I like:

  • Available in many bright and fashionable colours and designs
  • The tangle-free wires
  • Doesn’t look too big on my tiny head
  • Looks very sleek, unlike other chunky looking headphones
  • The price. For P1,850, this is a steal!

What I don’t like:

  • There’s really nothing to dislike about The Boom. Except maybe it’s not really that portable unless you have a bag or case for it.

What I think:

  • Among the three(3) Coloud audio gear, The Boom is the most expensive and I’m not surprised why. It has the best sound quality (clarity 5/5, bass 4/5) and has sound-cancelling feature. It is very comfortable to use even during long use, and is very light yet durable.

Coloud is distributed by Digits Trading and available at the following retail stores:

  • Astrovision
  • Automatic Center
  • Avant
  • Beyond The Box
  • Bratpack
  • Buzz
  • Digital Hub
  • Digital Walker
  • Electroworld
  • iCenter
  • iGig
  • iStore
  • iStudio

  1. Looking forward to the “The Knock” review 🙂 I actually went to their website cause I was curious on how “The Knock” looked like. It’s also nice to see lots of color combinations for their earphones. Do their distributors here in the Philippines carry all the color combinations as well?

Hi Lei, thanks for passing by! 🙂 I’m not sure if they carry ALL the color combinations, but I believe they do carry other colors as well 🙂 I’ve seen a blue one and an orange one already 🙂 The Knock is my favourite among the 3! 🙂

  3. Have you compared these to Beats and Marshall Majors? Also, does it come in other colors?

I haven’t tried Beats yet, but I have tried the Marshall Majors. Honestly, the Boom is very faaar from the Marshalls (Marshalls are so much better, in terms of hardware quality and sound), but the price difference is very huge so I’m really not that surprised. The Marshall Majors is twice the price of the Boom. But the Boom, for its price range is a very good buy 🙂 And YES, it comes in many many colors!!! 🙂 Check out http://www.coloud.com 🙂

  5. Thanks for the response 🙂 I’m actually planning to get The Knock but will have to wait for your review first 😉 Good to know there’s an orange one. Yay!
