I was able to see the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C live during my trip to Singapore last month.
(I promise to blog about my trip soon. So much blog backlog, augh!)
The iPhone 5S was pretty much what I expected. Not much different than the iPhone 5, except it had a different button that could read fingerprints, a better chip and is available in a brand new color.
(Is that champagne or gold? I would have wanted that they two-toned the champagne/gold with black instead of white, though.)
I wasn’t really excited to see the iPhone 5S.
What I was more curious about was the iPhone 5C.

Remember how people were speculating about Apple’s affordable, budget iPhone?
People were saying that the C was for “cheap”.
Well, let me tell you one thing – the iPhone 5C does NOT feel cheap at all.
Even though the body is made of plastic (well, polycarbonate), it still feels quite solid in your hand. Like any Apple product, the iPhone 5C is incredibly well made.
One sad thing though, the iPhone 5C is not the budget phone we were hoping for as the price is not budget at all.
The 16GB version of the iPhone 5C was around 848SGD. Still pretty expensive, if you ask me!
So, you ask, iPhone 5C or iPhone 5S?
If you’re coming from an iPhone 4 or 4S, upgrading to the iPhone 5C is a good choice as it’s like upgrading to the iPhone 5. You’ll have more choices in colour! Blue, yellow, pink, lime green and white!
But if you’re already on an iPhone 5, getting an iPhone 5S would be a much better choice.
I was thinking that the new iPhones would reach the Philippines in December but lo and behold…
Christmas comes early this year as Smart will be offering the new iPhones come November 15!
I’ve been a subscriber of Smart for a year now and I will have to tell you that I’ve never been happier!
So if I were YOU, you might want to make that switch when you upgrade to the new iPhones *wink wink*
