Comfort: 5/5

The MJ522 build is quite similar to the MJ502 with some slight (and better) differences.

The headband of the MJ522 is slightly thicker making it more durable, giving it a firmer grip on your head. However, the weight stays the same and this goes without saying that the MJ522 is still very lightweight.

The earpads are also bigger making it more comfortable for people with bigger ears and larger heads. As the earpads are bigger,  the headphone becomes somewhat more of an over-the-ear headphone for people with smaller ears.

Sound Quality: 4/5

The MJ522 definitely packs more punch that the MJ502. While the MJ502 can leave you wanting for more, the MJ522 delivers sound quality that is just right. The lows, mids and high frequencies blend together in a perfectly balanced way.

The sound quality the MJ522 won’t wow you if you’re a hardcore audiophile but for an average user the performance is definitely above average.

Conclusion:

Finally, Goldilocks tried a spoonful from Baby Bear’s tiny little bowl. “YUMMY!” she cried. “THIS IS JUST RIGHT!”

The Pioneer MJ522 definitely reminds me of the story of Goldilocks and the 3 bears. The MJ522 is just right for your above average music lover who seeks good performance but at the same time is looking for portability in a headphone.

For the price of P1,580 (est. $40), you won’t go wrong with this purchase.
