Two weeks ago, I received from Belo this lovely trio.
The kit contained a body cream, a face and neck cream and an intensive whitening bar, all from Belo’s Kojic Acid + Tranexamic Acid Intensive Whitening line, all of which I will be reviewing on this post.
My thoughts on beauty, happiness and whitening products
You know how nowadays people always say to love the skin you are born with? And how sometimes, people who use lightening products are sort-of frowned upon or judged by these people?
I say, to heck with them!
While there’s nothing wrong with telling people to love yourself and to be happy with what you’ve got, there’s also nothing wrong with trying to become the best version of who you want to be.
I believe that the most beautiful people are those who are happy.
So if changing the way you look (in a major or minor way) makes you happy, then I say, go for it. Don’t be ashamed to tell people that you use whitening products. If making your skin fairer is going to give you that confidence boost, then go do it.
The important thing to remember is to make sure that we are doing this (changing the way we look) for ourselves, and not for anyone else. Not because people give us a hard time about how we look, but because we simply want to do it for us.
As for me, I personally don’t see the need to use whitening products as I consider myself light-to-medium skinned. But I do have certain problem areas — noticeable dark spots on my face, noticeable dark scars on my legs from me scratching myself when itchy, and noticeable scars on my arms due to my cat’s scratching.
There are days when I’ve considered using lightening products just to even out my skin tone but I’ve never really gotten to the point of buying any.
So when Belo sent me over this Kojic Acid + Tranexanemic Acid Intensive Whitening kit, I was more than happy to try the products out!

The premise: I have very dry and sensitive skin, and I used these three product for 10 days.
While I was happy to try these products out, I have to admit that I was also a little hesitant.
Whitening products have always been known to be very drying so I was afraid that using these products all at the same time might dry out my skin and cause itchiness and flaking.
Good news though!
But FIRST, before I tell you the good news, let me review each product one by one.
Belo Kojic Acid + Tranexamic Acid Intensive Whitening Bar

Bath time with this bar soap is quite pleasant, although a bit drying.
I felt really squeaky clean after rinsing off the suds. And after drying my body with a towel, I had to slather myself with my usual body lotion as my skin felt quite tight and dry.
Fortunately, no itchiness and flakiness happened while I using this soap. I don’t dare use this on my face, though.
My solution: I made it a point to use this soap every other day instead of every day.
The bar also “melts” quite easily so it can get consumed very quickly. Tip — cut the bar into half and it’ll last longer.
More good points:
- It is the most affordable among the three at only P59.75 per bar.
- The scent is really nice. Very light and citrusy.
- Lathers really quick which I really like.
- Easy to rinse and doesn’t leave any film on the skin.
- My skin started to look fairer (specifically my arms and my hands) in just a few uses of this soap, roughly around a week’s use.
Belo Kojic Acid + Tranexamic Acid Intensive Body Cream

The body cream I liked using on spot areas — scars on my legs, scratches on my arms, on my elbows and on my knees.

Some good points:
- Affordable at P199.75 for 150mL.
- Very light and gets absorbed into the skin quickly.
- Nice light, citrusy scent.
- Has SPF30.
If you don’t have dry skin, this could work on its own and but for me, I saw the need to follow up with a thin layer of my usual body lotion.
Plus points – this body cream is a really good alternative to your daily sunscreen.
Belo Kojic Acid + Tranexamic Acid Intensive Face and Neck Cream

Among the three, the face and neck cream would be my most favorite. If I had to get only one product from the line up, I would get this.

At first, I wasn’t so hot on the packaging. I’m not a big fan of products that come in tubs or pots. I find that dipping my fingers in the container is quite unhygienic. But lo and behold, the face and neck cream came with a scooper!

I was also pleasantly surprised that this product wasn’t drying at all! Neither did it cause any allergic reactions to my very sensitive face.
I could actually just use this on my face alone, but since I’m really paranoid about drying and flaking, I still decided to supplement it with a thin layer of facial moisturizer. I was worried that applying 2 cream products on my face might feel heavy but it didn’t.
The cream is very light and can easily be spread. You only need a little amount so this 50g can go a long way.
Very good point — I noticed an immediate brightening effect after use.
More good points:
- Has SPF30.
- Not greasy and get easily absorbed into the skin
- Only P249.75 for a 50g pot.
And for the good news…
Well, the good news is… the Belo Kojic Acid + Tranexamic Acid Intensive Whitening line is NOT as drying as I thought it would be! 😉 I can also happily vouch that people with sensitive skin can definitely use these products.
It’s very rare to find a whitening line that is effective and works for dry and sensitive skin so this indeed is very good news to all kikay geeks out there.
