“Titanic Escape Simulator” is a real game now… too soon?

PlayStation just quietly listed Titanic Escape Simulator, a first-person survival game where you wake up on the RMS Titanic as it’s sinking. Your mission? Escape. (Preferably not by floating on a wooden door. Oh, snap!)

It’s set to release on PS5, PS4, PC, and PS VR2 and promises realistic flooding, physics-based chaos, and moral choices about who gets a lifeboat. Because what’s a historical disaster without a little guilt, right?

“Too Soon?”… Or just in time for puzzle fans?

Is it weird to make a game out of the Titanic? A little. But it’s not the first time we’ve done it. This one leans more into gameplay and survival mechanics than historical reenactment. Think:

  • Tilting decks
  • Puzzles and locked doors
  • Debris to climb through
  • Hypothermia to manage
  • Timed moral choices that probably leave you questioning everything

So basically, Saw but with Edwardian wallpaper.

But is it legit?

Good question. The trailer is out, the PlayStation listing is live, and everything looks… promising. But people online are already pointing out the “AI-ish” look of some promo images. Plus, the dev name on the listing doesn’t link back to a known studio, so this might be a solo or small team project.

Translation: proceed with cautious optimism. Or at least wait for some hands-on gameplay before boarding. (I volunteer as tribute!)

Will I play it? 100% yes.

Look, I love puzzle games. Give me a locked door and a sinking ship and I will live for that challenge (figuratively… hopefully not literally). And if Titanic Escape Simulator nails the pacing, immersion, and logic-based problem-solving? I’m absolutely adding this to my backlog of games I will obsess over and never finish.
