So apparently my type is… demon K-pop boyband??? Thanks, K-pop Demon Hunters

Okay, confession time: I’m not a K-pop fan. Never memorized any choreography, couldn’t tell you who’s who in any of the groups, and I don’t follow comebacks. But KPop Demon Hunters? I was grinning the entire time.

This animated Netflix film is what happens when you throw together magical girl energy, demon-slaying chaos, idol group glam, and some very hot antagonists. The story follows Huntrix, a K-pop girl group who fight demons on the side (as one does). And they’re up against the Saja Boys aka a rival K-pop boyband that’s literally made up of demons. And yes. They’re fine.

The movie doesn’t take itself too seriously, which I love. It’s colorful, kinetic, full of over-the-top set pieces, and the music? Absolute bops. Even if you don’t understand Korean, the vibe comes through hard.

I totally enjoyed it. The humor, the action, the animation style. It’s got that Saturday morning cartoon energy but for the grown-ish crowd. Also, again, the demon boyband. Just putting that out there.

GGM RATING: 8.5/10

(Online reviews hover between 8 and 9 too. Lots of praise for the visuals, music, and overall fun.)

So if you’re in the mood for something fast, fun, and unexpectedly thirst-inducing, give this one a spin. Even if you don’t stan, you might just start simping.
