Marvel Rivals Season 3 drops July 11! Phoenix joins the fight, new Klyntar map, and big updates ahead

Mark your calendars! Marvel Rivals Season 3 is dropping July 11, and it’s coming in hot. Literally. The Phoenix (yes, that Phoenix — Jean Grey in full cosmic mode) is joining the game, along with a brand-new map set on Klyntar and a bunch of new features to shake things up.

Here’s the quick lowdown if you haven’t caught up yet.

Say hello to the Phoenix

In this season’s story timeline, Jean Grey and the Phoenix Force have fully synced up, and they’re traveling the galaxy trying to keep things in balance. But of course, something dark and nasty starts waking up at the edge of the universe, so naturally, they decide to fly straight into the abyss and deal with it the old-fashioned way: with fire.

Gameplay-wise, Phoenix is a Duelist, and yeah, she’s probably going to be a powerhouse. Psychic damage, cosmic energy, beautiful destruction. All the fun stuff.

New map: Klyntar – Celestial Husk

Venom fans, you’re gonna like this. The new map is set on Klyntar, and it’s basically the body of a decapitated Celestial that’s been floating around in space, slowly falling apart. Metal, right?

The atmosphere here? Creepy, cosmic, and full of that dark symbiote energy.

What else is new this season?

Aside from the new hero and map, we’re getting:

  • 4 new Team-Ups (who’s teaming with who? We’ll see!)
  • A full mission system overhaul
  • New accessories customization
  • A competitive mode coming later in the season
  • Blade joining the roster!
  • And get this: verified college students can now try out 10 free rotating costumes each season. Starts with US and UK students first, more regions to follow.

Dev vision and patch notes

If you’re into the nitty-gritty updates (buffs, nerfs, patch changes, etc.), the latest Dev Vision episode is up on YouTube:

Going to San Diego Comic-Con?

Marvel Rivals will be at SDCC again this year! Expect:

  • A full fan celebration with demos and giveaways (July 24–27)
  • A special panel on how heroes go from concept art to in-game legends (July 25)

More details on that coming soon, but if you’re going, definitely worth checking out.

TL;DR

  • Season 3 launches July 11
  • Phoenix is playable
  • New Klyntar map looks wild
  • Blade’s joining, mission system’s getting revamped, and we’ve got Team-Ups + new customization
  • Free costume trials for college students (nice)
  • SDCC appearances incoming!

It’s shaping up to be Marvel Rivals’ biggest season yet!
