Pre-TGS Spotlight #1: Journey of Realm: Dawn Dew — This solo-dev game has my attention

Okay, I have a soft spot for indie games especially ones made by just one person. There’s something magical about knowing a single dev poured their time, skills, and probably way too many cups of coffee into creating a whole new world. And Journey of Realm: Dawn Dew? Yep, it’s got me curious.

It officially launches today and will be at Tokyo Game Show 2025’s Indie Game Area (Booth 11-E63) which means I’m already adding it to my TGS must-visit list.

Meet Dew and her world

You play as Dew, a young girl wandering through ten beautifully designed regions. Think mystical forests, flowing streams, and intricate puzzles that will slow down even the most “I’m just here to fight” gamers.

And while exploration looks fun, the combat system is where things get spicy. You’ve got 11 combat styles, over 100 active and passive skills, and more than 100 usable items. Translation? Endless tinkering with builds until you find your perfect combo.

Why it’s on my radar for TGS

The fact that Dawn Dew was built entirely by one developer blows my mind. Tokyo Game Show is famous for bringing hidden gems to light, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this turns into one of those “I played it before it blew up” moments.

If you’re going to TGS, swing by the Indie Game Area and check it out.
